At 5:25 Saturday morning six of us left Palm Springs for the top of the tram.

At the end of the first hour we stopped for a five-minute break, and at the end of the third hour, we were caught up by a 67-year old climber who lives in Palm Springs, by the name of Ray McCarty, with whom I climb quite often.

The top of the tram was made by all, after a strenuous 8,300'ft. climb.

We spent a lovely afternoon at the tram, where most of us had dinner. Ray McCarty had a previous engagement, and took the tram down.

The next morning, we got up at 5:00 and left at 6:00 for the peak. Five of the DPSers made the round trip and one was lazy and stayed in the sack.

Upon returning we gathered up our gear and had a free, ride down on the tram, where we picked up my car and drove to the start of the trip where the other cars were parked.

It was a great trip and I think Mt. San Jacinto should be on the DPS list, if climbed from the desert floor.
