Cuno Randshau and I chose this very warm weekend for a traverse of Mitchell and Providence Pks. from the traditional starting point at the Bonanza King Mine. The traverse was routine, reaching Providence in six hours, but as we had no second car with which to make a shuttle we dropped down the north slope of Providence, near the saddle, into the canyon below, which drains to the east. In the canyon we found evidence of the cutting of the Pinon pines and several very old miner's campsites. The car was reached in l-1/2 hours.
