Rosa Point, Indianhead, San Ysidro Mountain

Eight peak baggers assembled Sat 6:30AM on Rte S22 east of Borrego Springs for Rosa Pt. Included were the leaders, Fred Camphausen, Lois Fracisco, Phil and Luella Martin, Joe McCosker, and Greg Vernon. One hiker turned back early in the AM but the remaining seven were all on the peak before noon and back to the cars around 4:00PM.

The Martins then departed and the remainder along with lone Bruce, Vicki Erwin, and Betty McCosker had a sociable dinner at a restaurant in Borrego Springs. Greg Vernon then left the group for Martinez on Sunday. We all spent Sat night in the Borrego Springs Campground where the climb of Indianhead begins.

Sunday, joined by How Bailey, six left for Indianhead at 7:3OAM. The peak was made and all were back to the cars at l:3OPM. Fred and How then left and four diehards went on to do San Ysidro. This took a two hr rt and brought us back to the cars for the last time at 4:30PM.

The weather was excellent and no untoward incident marred a pleasant weekend in a scenic area.
